Meet The Photographer
Alex Melelli
Hi everyone! I’m a wildlife photographer from Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula. I didn’t actually take up photography until I began my journey at Western Michigan University and quickly combined it for my love for wildlife and being outdoors.
When I’m not doing photography, I love playing golf when the weather allows, disc golf at some local courses, and sometimes tennis if I’m feeling froggy.
I am a big Green Bay Packers fan so September-February you’ll catch me rooting for them! I also enjoy playing cards, especially poker, playing my guitar and writing music, and spending time with friends and family.
Gear I use
Camera Body: Since I began my photography journey in 2019, I’ve had only 1 camera body that I still use to this day. I bought it off a friend in college and have never upgraded. It’s the Canon 7D Mark ii. It has done me wonders!
Lenses: For wildlife photography, I almost exclusively use the Sigma 150-600mm. It is a terrific “Bang for your Buck” lens that is sharp and affordable compared to some name brand options. It was truly the game changer for me and is the tool that has allowed me to do what I do.
